LASIK Flap Questions For Dr. Chynn, NY LASIK Surgeon

A letter to a new patient from Dr. Emily Chynn of Park Avenue Laser, the finest LASIK surgeon in New York City.

Dr. Chynn,I have striae issues, and am scheduled for surgery to re float/suture the flap. For striae requiring a suture fix, how long do the sutures stay in, and how uncomfortable are they? Once done, what is the wait period for healing to then do PKR to finish the eye?

Thanks.

Bill,

Please do exactly the following if you want my (expert) advice/2nd opinion:1. Get old records from your current MD (sign a HIPAA form for this)

2. Call my office for a SECOND OPINION

3. Fax the front and back of your insurance card to my sec to clear it BEFORE you come in

When you come in, I will evaluate your condition and make a recommendation.  You may need only suturing, or perhaps suturing + hypotonic saline at time of relift/float, to swell the cornea and get rid of the wrinkles BEFORE suturing down

This is why I mainly do non-flap LASIK procedures now, as there is 0% risk of flap wrinkles.  See you soon soon!
