Monovision, and LASEK vs. LASIK recommendation

 Gary,

Dr. Emil Chynn at Park Avenue Laser was my eye surgeon. They do free consultation and are happy to answer any questions about the procedure, costs, etc. I copied them on this e-mail. I had very little pain with the procedure and don’t have “halos” or night vision problems like a lot of Lasik patients have complained about. My recommendation is to get the mono-vision option so that you can read without glasses (at least until you’re 60).

Hi Ed and Gary

Thanks for the referral, Ed  :-)

Gary, the reason our patients don’t have glare and halos at night afterwards, like many LASIK patients do (including myself), is because we don’t do LASIK anymore

Instead, i only do LASEK or epiLASEK, which does NOT involve cutting a flap, so when your pupil dilates at night, there is no flap edge to see, which is the reason I (having had the older LASIK procedure) have halos at night

We also do CustomVue, which also eliminates this problem–visit www.PersonalBestVision.com for more about this

Please call my office to RSVP to attend our upcoming live laser seminar on either June 20 or June 27, or to book your free consultation with us, where we will explain everything.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!  :-)
