by not cutting a flap as in LASIK i am saving 100+ microns of corneal tissue, which is sufficient tissue to treat -10.00 Rx with standard, and -8.00 Rx w CustomVue treatment
this means we can safely treat patients with high Rxs, and/or thin corneas, and leave them thicker, stronger, and safer than if we had done a smaller Rx in a thinner-cornea patient if we had performed LASIK on them
