I had RK in the 70’s for Astigmatism and my vision has not been great for the last 2 years. My doctor recomended glasses which I am reluctantly using. I wondered if your type of Laser Surgery would work? If so I will make an apointment, I live in NYC.

Dr. Chynn replies:

Alan,

You can’t have LASIK - you will wind up with pie-shaped pieces of cornea! :(

However you CAN have LASEK with Mitomycin C on top of your prior RK, which involves zero cutting so you have zero chance of pie-shaped fragments. Ii have done lots of these; you will be fine if you follow ALL the directions.

Please call my office to schedule an appointment with me where we will discuss this in more detail.

Looking forward to helping you out!

Emil William Chynn, MD FACS MBA

P.S. Your doctor didn’t mention this as he only does LASIK, not LASEK.
