Dr. Chynn answers a patient’s question

Brooke: My insurance is through United Healthcare, will that cover this prcedure?

Dr. Chynn: I am a UHC provider and I have had patients who have used them. They do cover a portion of the cost but bring in your card so we can check to see the exact amount they will cover.

Brooke: My prescription in both my Left and right eye is -5.00

Dr. Chynn: Although you may think this is a strong prescription, it is, in fact, the average. Your laser time will be only 40 sec per eye-that’s it!

Brook: I have been using soft extended contact lenses, is that a problem?

Dr. Chynn: These are very bad and unsafe. As numerous studies have proven, soft extended contact lenses can increase your chances of getting a blinding infection by 10x. Soft Daily Disposable contact lenses damage your eyes the least.

Dr. Chynn: What is the main reason you are seeking Laser Vision Correction?

BrookFor the last 11 years I have been wearing contacts every day and rarely wear glasses. I infrequently take my contacts out at night and realize the harm it is doing to my eyes. I knew I wanted to get this surgery for a couple years, but I am now ready to go ahead with it and Dr. Chynn was recommended to be by a co- worker.

Dr. Chynn: What are your major concerns about Laser Vision Correction?

Brook: I’m just a little nervous for any complications that may occur. Also, I would like to be well informed of the events pre-surgery and post-surgery so I can plan around my daily life.

Dr. Chynn: Our techniques have been updated so there is almost no risk at all of an intraoperative complication. Therefore, the only thing left is for you to follow all your postop instructions, which you will receive when you come in. By doing so, you will ensure great results!
