Channel 5 Fox - Corneal Tattoo

Dear Andrea:

It was my great pleasure meeting you today for the interview for your tv show on fox 5 about the man i performed a corneal tattoo on

Adam and Chris know that i get interviewed frequently (including by 4 newspapers in just the past week) and your interview was, by far, the most professional, informative, and fun:)

Please reply to all to this email whenever you get the chance with the approximate date and time you think this will air. i know that these things can be very variable and often last-minute, but we would like a heads-up so we can do some promo work on our website, etc (and perhaps tell my parents):)

I would love to do further stories with you, as we discussed, including any of the following that you would like to do:

  1. My own diamond implantation–just look at my website below, go to the video library, and then there is a deeper “hidden” library there with this video on it, i believe (my webmaster raf is ccd on this just to be sure)
  2. Eye jewelry - as i said, i would be the 1st doctor on the east coast, and the 2nd doctor in the US to inplant one (the other doctor is in–you guessed it–LA!). it’s imported from europe. we should both find a celebrity like a hip-hop, rap, or similar artist to do this on, would be a huge story! see:

  3. Dog LASEK - as we discussed, my dog is in the pet therapy program of st vincent’s hospital, so we could film him and some other dogs visiting patients briefly as a warm kind of intro, then segue into lasering the nearsighted dog.again, both of us should try to find one to laser (i’ll do this w a vet so he or she can help sedate the dog). my dog, hershey, is very sweet and i actually operated on his eye with a different procedure 2 years ago, and he didn’t need sedation (see his picture attached this halloween, when he let me put in funny “wild eyes” contacts in him for his costume)!

I would also be more than happy to fix your dry eye problem, and this could even be another story, as 99% of patients with contacts can’t wear them for as many hours when they get older (over 30), because your body produces less tears with age, so they dry out in your eyes, and none of them know that they can have punctal plugs paid for by their medical (not vision) insurance and fix this problem in 1 minute! (i even sometimes don’t tell people that much, or they won’t feel the need to get rid of their contacts and get LASEK by me–ha ha!)

Actually, even if you don’t want to be your own story (although I think your fans would love it!), you really should consider letting me put in a dissolvable plug the next time we meet, as there is 0 downside as it dissolves in a week anyway, all you would do is assess how much better it makes your contact in that eye feel and allow you to wear it longer, so you gain confidence, in which case we could then put in a plug that is semi-permanent and does not dissolve (but can always easily be removed in 10 seconds, just as it takes 10 sec to insert)

Hope this info helps, and pls email or call me at any time if you have any questions or wish to discuss any of these interesting stories (or your eyes)

Yours,
Emil William Chynn, MD
