Fixing LASIK Complications - Another Example
Q: I have had Hyperopia with one eye lazy. I got my LASIK surgery for Hyperopia done in Mumbai, India about 3.5 months ago. I live in NY. I am facing some complications after the surgery and I was hoping if you could give an opinion about it. Would you be able to check my eyes and discuss things.
A: I actually spent some time doing surgery at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai when I was at Harvard, and Dr. Puri, one of my fellows, is from so I’m very familiar with the standards of care and technology in India.
Basically, they are as advanced in cataract surgery as here in the US, as they have so much volume. On the other hand, they are way behind in refractive surgery, pretty much for the same reason.
