LOCAL NYC WOMAN WINS FREE LASER SURGERY AND SUPPORTS 9/11 FUND

Park Avenue Laser Vision donates auction item for
Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund

New York, NY – September 15, 2008: Dr. Chynn and www.ParkAvenueLaserVision.com, in conjunction with www.Execulife.com, successfully raised $2,000.00 for the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, which has raised and distributed over $175 million to over 800 families and 950 children victims of the 9/11 tragedy.  Recently, the Relief Fund has expanded its scope to include natural disasters such as hurricanes in the Gulf Coast.

Cantor Fitzgerald, the World Trade Center tenant most severely affected by the events of September 11, 2001, lost 658 employees at its World Trade Center headquarters. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund was founded in the wake of the attacks, to provide direct assistance to those who lost loved ones and has raised and distributed over $175 million to over 800 families and 950 children victims of the 9/11 tragedy. Recently, the Relief Fund has expanded its scope to include natural disasters such as hurricanes in the Gulf Coast. (See www.cantorrelief.org for more details.)

Dr. Chynn was one of the 1st MDs to volunteer at Ground Zero on 9/11 (include link to that article), set up the 1st Triage Center at Ground Zero, and was interviewed on national TV about the medical volunteers working that week, so he has a very personal interest in 9/11 charity work.

Congratulations to Kristen Mitchell

The winning patient was Kristin Mitchell, who is a Marketing Manager at www.Avon.com.  Kristin was actually at Dr. Chynn's center for her free consultation a few months ago, and took this opportunity to both save money and give her money to a worthy cause.  (We wish to commend Kristin for her generosity, as she actually "overbid" for this auction item, winning it for $2,000 when she actually could have won it for less, but she wanted to donate more!).

“I was interested in laser surgery but was very nervous about getting it, so I did a lot of research on my own,” says Mitchell. “I heard about Dr. Chynn’s great reputation and Harvard training…he also was highly recommended by my vision health plan, so I chose Dr. Chynn!”. The LASEK procedure was auctioned off at the HUDSON TERRACE ROOFTOP NETWORKING EVENT in Midtown Manhattan organized by Execulife (https://www.execulife.com) on the evening of 9/11/08.

Thank You For Your Participation

We would also like to acknowledge the generosity of www.amo-inc.com and www.visx.com, the makers of the VISX Star S4 IR laser that Dr. Chynn owns, which is, by far, the market leader in laser vision correction, having lasered more eyes in the US than all other brands--combined! VISX/AMO has donated free royalty treatment cards for Kristin's procedure (which normally cost Dr. Chynn $1,000), so that we can then donate $1,000 more to the Cantor Relief Fund, for a total of $3,000.00 instead of $2,000.00.

So, thank you everyone for participating in this worthy cause, and thank you for its success! Kristin will be having her procedure next month, and we will invite all the bidders to attend, as they will be receiving a coupon for $100 off their laser vision correction surgery just for bidding!:)

Why Choose Dr. Chynn?

Dr. Chynn—highly esteemed eye laser surgeon who has been performing laser vision surgeries for over a decade at a 100% success rate—was one of the first medical doctors to arrive on the WTC site the morning of 9/11 and set up the 1st Triage Center at Ground Zero.  Dr. Chynn is also the only surgeon in NYC who performs exclusively the No-Cut, No-Flap, All-Laser LASEK and epi-LASEK, for safety that is 10x better than traditional LASIK (which Dr. Chynn had himself in 1999, but stopped performing in 2003).
